How we met:

It started in 1999, when Dave was checking guys out on the net and Luc was too. Dave was dating girls still and Luc was in a long-term relationship with a guy going nowhere. We were both on gay.com chatting. Dave had this really old pic with his ex- g/f (she was conveniently cropped out) and Luc was using someone else pic (with his permission) and we chatted about 20 mins.
Dave doesn’t really remember the conversation but Luc remembers him and what we talked about. Dave thinks he has no recollection because he was weary about Luc and the pic that was sent.
Then 3 years later, Dave moved to Toronto and one night when he was out eating pizza on a step on Church Street and Luc walked by, recognized him from the photo and said hi.
We started chatting for about 20 mins and then we went our separate ways. Not living right down town, Dave didn't go out much. We still don’t, but Luc remembered him from the chat and went on a mission to find Dave. He went out every night for a month and a half looking for Dave at a different bar every night. He's crazy!
Dave didn't go out much, so Luc had no luck... but he did finally see him out a month and a half later.... BUT, on a date. Luc got all upset and left... but not before saying hi and asking me about where I lived, what I did and about a big bandage on my arm (happened while he was biking - another story)
Dave still didn't know about this conversation years earlier, just that he had run into Luc twice in the last month. Then two weeks later Luc saw Dave on gay.com and messaged him, stating who he was - the guy from a month and a half ago and two weeks ago - and asked if Dave wanted to go on a date. The answer was of course, yes… and this was on a Thursday.
We went out on Friday – after work – and that Saturday we moved in together. Dave went back to work on Monday in the same clothes!
We've been together ever since and Dave only found out two weeks after the first date about the chat years earlier and could only believed him because he had saved that original first face-pic – with the g/f cropped out - ever posted online on his computer, somehow knowing there was a connection.
It was a few things we both said and stories we shared on our first date made us feel so good about where we could go with this relationship. Dave had no hesitations and Luc neither.
